October 4 was Kyler's class' first
visit to Garrison Creek Retirement Home. His teacher takes his class
about once/month to the home for the kids to put on a short program
for the residents. The whole class performs two or three songs, and
then each child does an individual or small group performance. For
example, if they take piano lessons, they play a song on the piano.
If they don't have any kind of music lessons, they either recite a
poem, Bible verse, or do a readers theater with a few other kids, or
play handbells with a group. It is really nice for the residents
there to have the kids come and do this for them. And what a great
opportunity for the kids to get experience getting up in front of
people. I love it!

Garrison Creek
Kyler was supposed to play Twinkle
Twinkle Little Star on the piano since he is taking piano lessons.
However, two days before the performance, he told his teacher he
wasn't going to do it. She agreed he could skip his turn this time
around, but he would have to participate in all future performances.
So, I have some video of all the kids singing together but nothing of
Kyler individually since he wasn't willing to participate. In the
video, Kyler is hard to see. He is in the 2nd row on the
end on the left. But he is mostly hidden by the kids in the front
row.
