Friday, February 1 was National Wear
Red Day. This is an awareness campaign by the American Heart
Association to primarily recognize heart disease in women. However,
it is also an opportunity for us to raise awareness of congenital
heart disease since February is National Heart Month. And Congenital
Heart Defect Awareness Week is coming up: February 7-14.
Every year, the kids and I proudly wear
red to raise awareness for CHD. This year is no different. We also
encourage our friends and family to wear red in support of our boys
and to spread the awareness where they live. Many people send me
their pictures showing them wearing red and I love to show these to
my kids. It is so wonderful for them to know people love and support
them.
Thank you to all who wore red! Let's
continue to spread the awareness of all forms of heart disease!
