Occupational Therapy

We are very blessed to have a wonderful OT to work with Caden. Monica works at Bright Start Therapies and Caden has been with her since November 2009. When he started he had significant sensory issues and fine motor delays.

Over the last year, she worked with him on many things. Therapy often includes swinging, zipping across the zipline and dropping into a bean bag, riding the roller coaster FAST across the room, scooting around on his tummy on a scooter-board, playing in the ball pit, and playing in the bin of beans. He seems to love speed and going very fast! In addition, he spends a lot of time doing table work such as drawing with crayons, finding small toys hidden in therapy putty, stringing beads, playing with shaving cream and many more things.

Occupational therapy is a fun time for Caden and is probably his favorite of all his therapies. It is less physically demanding than PT and provides more variety than speech therapy. He has come a long way in the past year and we are so happy for the help he is getting. He is closing the gap on the areas where he is delayed.

Swinging in circles - he LOVES this!

In the "cuddle" swing. He's not so sure about this one but did better this time than in the past.
